Someone tell him about stretched tapes! :rolleyes:Quote:
...odd warbly noises on the Walkman.
The warbling is probably because of the horrifically short battery life; it is nearly completely dead within three hours of firing it up.
He writes well for a 13 year old lol! :D
Tell him about a new set of batteries after you listen two an album or two.

The Fisher Price wind up record players with the half-inch thick red plastic LP's had the superior sound if you asked me. Infinitely more portable than a Gramophone and required no batteries/electricity.
"Mary had a little lamb, little lamb. Mary had a little lamb..."
Don't mock, I still listen to vinyl, it's wonderful :)
I wasnt it just reminded me on the big breakfast ( quite some years ago ) they had a little red car that underneath had the reading mechanism for vinyl underneath and the electronics and a speaker on the top of the car and the car would drive around the vinyl and at the same time play the vinyl

Anyone remember the old Compaq "portable"
Weighed approximately 2 tonnes and microscopic screen! My OH used to have to lug one around London when he was training as an accountant. The only benefit was that the trainee who had the Compaq did get to use a taxi for some audits as they were concerned about theft in some parts of London... presumably any muggers were 7 foot 9 and built like power-lifters! :D
Of course, if you want to be a real nerd you would only use these with it: maxell Metal Vertex Cassette Tape
