Two of the SMT have just pounced on me and asked what I need or want to spend money now, right now.
They explained that they have a large amount, without telling me the actual amount, of money and what would I like to buy this week as it has to be spent.
I have suggested buying more ink carts and maybe projector bulbs which they are happy about but have asked if I have anything else I need
Anyone think of anything exciting I should get? :eek:

50 " monitor x 2, expensive coffeeee machine, a slide, if you are upstairs above a server room - a pole like fireman have down to it, 100's of IP cameras in all computer rooms, new servers and computers. Network management software which detects alot through 'traps' - well in theory anyway. So you no longer have to get off your chair unless you have to collect a machine to fix it.

I quite like the idea of disk-disk-tape backup, anyone know how much this would cost? RM quoted me £5,700 for their set up.Quote:

A Ruckus setup to start you going. Once your staff get hooked on it then it's almost guaranteed to get expanded.

Step one, get yourself a new workstation.
Step two, fill up the cupboards.
Step three, look where you need to make upgrades, sotrage is good. It might also be a good opportunity to upgrade any workstation with less then 1gb ram.

Defo a good idea, can't fault their system - a wireless system you don't have to constantly battle with? WIN
Speak to dell or HP rep about disk-disk , they'll give you a rundown of the stuff available for your size of backup
We bought spare hard drives and laptop batteries, the latter being something that is rarely covered under warranty past the first year because manufacturers know damn well they can be dead after two.
