Car shipping to dublin, any ideas please?

Just wondered if anyone has any experience of this.

I'm in the process of buying a used car for an uncle who lives in Dublin, apparently cars are more cheaper here in Blighty.

My question is, in order to ship the car, can I just use the New Keepers V5C Supplement slip supplied by the seller (private sale) to ship the car over OR do I have to wait for the new keepers log book V5C to come back from DVLA, which can take about 4 weeks before attempting to ship.

What documents are generally required before shipping can be done?

How do i go about shipping the car? Any approx. quote for this?

This will be a permanent export.

I would suggest with a boat :getmecoat:

No way should you ship a car from the UK to Ireland, just drive it there, it would only take a day or two. I'll do it for a fee!

You can get a ferry, from NW England, NW & SW Wales and SW Scotland.

And flights with air lingus at the moment are cheap as chips so getting home will be a doddle too.
