Because of an event at out school today, we have just received this email "Please note that there will be no staff lounge today in the staffroom." Meaning, no staff are allowed in the Staff Room at lunch because of visiting dignatries.
I'm sure I heard/read somewhere that staff have a right to an area in work in which they can take a break etc? Am I making this up?

I believe you're right - Same reason Ofsted aren't allowed in the Staff Room. It's protected by Union agreement I believe.
Union or SMT decree? Only one way to sort this out. FIGHT!!!!!! ;)
