And me
I've got so much annual leave I'll lose it at the start of april so I'm just taking the day off
Me
Yup
Yep, couple of schools closed as a result.
Me too :)
Our school's closed. Letter went home with kids last night.
I lose loads of days A/L at the end of the year too.
You're not striking if you take it off as Annual Leave. I presume you didn't vote Face-Man :P
Had lots of misconceptions at my place:
I didn't vote, so I'm not on strike
I voted against, so i'm not on strike
As I've said before - no - but for two reasons, really:
1) I didn't get my ballot paper in time (I've just moved... new build property + Royal Mail = no mail deliveries :-()
2) If I did, there'd be no IT support for the school, and although I should, I'm a bit too conscientious. Anyway, if I'm not in Tuesday, I'll have double (quadruple?!) work to do on Weds...
We had a letter saying that unless you had already booked the day off - you couldn't use annual leave.Quote:

Andy
You maybe have a legitimate reason there indiegirl - not having a ballott paper, though I suppose you could've voted if you really wanted too.
You're saying the rest of us don't care?
I work all the time on my sch network, there's just so much to do. Not what a Union would wnat to hear either. But I haven't spent a day off the network since I got remote access last year. Before that I've lost 19 days annual leave in a year.
Yeah ther's always going to be more work, and you'll have to do it. What's that got to do with standing and being counted as a group so that people who are fighting for your working conditions and pay can show they have some backup.
Respect to you for being honest.
[I voted no too BTW Andy]
We will be on strike. No IT support, students told not to come in. Staff told to come in; those who don't get docked a days pay.
I have asked the Head of ICT to leave the servers in peace for the day!
(I wondered about changing admin password, disabling remote desktop.... but decided against it).
Yep, closing our place too.
Told we can't use A/L (unless planned before the strike). Ah well got till end of June to use my A/L. 3 weeks to take, where's nice this time of year?
What strike?? No one told me!
I'm in ATL, I take it that their on striking?
Whats the strike in aid of?
