We've just been given a quote for a sound system in our school hall consisting of the following components:
Crown Audio amplifiers
A Phonic Mixer
Citrionic DVD/CD player
Now, personally, I've never used equipment by any of these manufacturers so had already produced a quote which included the following:
JBL Pro speakers
Denon DVD/CD player
As I have had direct experience of these makes and know them to be superb quality and reliable.
The other difference is the first quote has Trantec microphones compared with my quote having Sennheiser 500 series mic's.
Now, the original quote comes in £1000 less than mine, but I am wondering about build quality/sound quality etc... As I know trantec mic's to be of lower build quality than sennheiser ones. Is this the case with the rest?
Is someone going to babysit this equipment every time it's going to be used?
If the answer is yes go for the better equipment otherwise go for the cheaper so it's cheaper to replace when it gets ruined.
It's not a problem either way, as the systems are supposed to be designed around being vandal proof.

The system you've been quoted should be absolutely fine, they are all good makes respectively.
I'd be wary of Transtec wireless mics though, they sound awful. The Sennheisers you have quoted would be far better, even though they're much more expensive.
Edit: Get some boom arm microphone attachments from CPC to go with them, they are head mounted capsules that just go in place of the tie clip. It's soooo much easier to get a decent signal from the performer, they are only a few quid IIRC.
Citrionics are abit crap but its only a CD player so...
Crown are a good brand and from my experiance of Phonics they should be fine too. TBh its abit hard to say anymore as most of the brands make cheap and expensive stuff. I dont really like Yamaha but i dont really like Ford either but i wouldnt turn down a Ford GT... depends how much you are spending really.
