Decided for the first time this year we are going to do a year book digitally rather than printing it out which is way to expensive.
Idea is to burn to dvd so kids can run it on TV, PC, Game consoles etc.
Any one done this?, have any advice tips, etc... and what software is recommended.

I have used MS Photostory (free) for the last few years here. Puts photo's into a slideshow with transforms and you can add music - then we burn them to dvd's for them to take away... they absolutely love it!

Runs about 28 mins... probably about 300 images. We collect them from the kids, teachers and throw in some images of the school for good luck...
Handy tip: Try to fit some of the images to the words in the songs! Shine is particularly good for that...
Erm, how do you use all this music? Surely this is done on the 'sly'? :D

We did that for a member of staff leaving - it was pretty funny actually and they loved it.

You can only get .wmv files out of it, which is a bit limiting, but you could always import the .wmv into Premiere (or similar) when you want to burn it to DVD. Vista's Windows DVD Maker would be a free option for that if you have access to Vista.
