Take it as banter, we all love a good teacher bashing thread but i think if you take the techy bashing threads in good humour you will rise above them.

Just a point though - there are some rubbish techs out there. A few years ago I took another job in a high school -SPECIFICALLY because they had a senior tech and I wanted to be able to learn from someone (I'm on my own in my other jobs).
When I got there I found out that all he really did was reload every machine -(the long way, too -not imaged) irrespective of what the problem was - he didn't like going into the school and wanted me to be a pack mule, running around the school bringing him broken kit.
I asked if I could watch him and if he was going to let me learn ANYTHING (this was fairly early on in my life as a tech - I'd never even imaged a machine) and he said 'NO'
He is unhelpful, unpleasant and STILL THERE 5 years on.
Maybe JB works in his school?
