I'm going for a job interview straight after work today for "IT Repair Technician", thing is I'll be wearing my work clothes... dickies work pants and polo shirt with school name.
Do you think they will have a problem with this?
It's a local company that we actually buy stuff from.
I personally don't think I look too bad. Just wondered what peoples opinions were on this.

I couldn't comment, I would imagine it depends wholly on the 'type' of job "IT Repair Technician". - I always expect people to turn up to interview in a suit but the reality is that once hired, they will very rarely wear one again!

It depends on how well the people who are interviewing you know you. If they know who you are and what you do already, I wouldn't worry too much.
If the interviewer isn't likely to be able to tell you from a Teaching Assistant at the same school, I'd nip home at lunchtime and grab something to change into before you go.

I've been to interviews before, right after work, and just explained that I wouldn't have had time to get home so I came as is.
If they would rather you were late but changed clothes, then it's not really a good sign.
my boss is the worst at taking pics! It's kinda blurry and I look stoned (I'm not) but you get the general idea...

Smarter than I look on the average day at work! Same hardwearing combats, toecapped trainers (saves on embarassing swearing when you drop a monitor on your foot mid classroom) and collared fleece tops or workshirts.
Yes, an interview is different etc but if they know you've come directly from work I can't see how it would be a problem - especially for a technical role. If it's customer facing explain that you would normally be smarter etc but have had no time to change - if you're working in a back room then it's probably pretty similar dress anyway! I got my NM job at interview wearing trousers, cheap shirt, and a £5 tie, left my earrings in and had dyed my hair the previous week not expecting an interview... That was over 3 others who turned up in the full shiny suit efforts. At the end of the day, it should be skills they're concentrating on interviewing about - if it's not, it's probably not somewhere you want to work anyway.

You look fine in that. Appropriate for the job.
I once went for an interview whilst on away holiday. All I had was Jeans and T-shirt (gave them a good iron first). The agency phoned the interviewer and explained beforehand, and I got the job.
Tell them first, make sure you look smart in addition to the uniform (clean shoes, body language, etc). Being able to present a good, professional corporate image is a good thing. If you go in with the intention of looking a good ambassador for the company you work for, they may be very impressed as you are showing you can do the same for them. :)
I'm a scruff. Always have been, always will be. Even in shirt and tie I'm a scruff. Still got me the job though, and I was competing with some who had gone the whole hog with their outfits.
If a company is worth their salt they'll employ you based upon your skills/abilities/experience and not what you look like.
I would give you the job straight away. Perfect for what they need and i am sure that you will get the job good luck not that you will need it Joanne. :)
you'll be just fine, sticking on posh clothes jsut provides a superficial impression. Is probably better that you give them a sample of how you'll look day to day
