Is the Past of Mars a Glimpse of our Future?
The news were discussing some of Curiosity's recent findings. They reckon that the atmosphere may once have been many times thicker, but that the magnetic field surrounding Mars collapsed and most of the water/atmosphere was stripped from the planet. Anything that may have lived there 4 billion years ago wouldn't have had much chance.
Which makes you wonder, if 2/3rds of Mars is thought to have once been ocean and now everything is a dusty red ball, would this be the future of Earth that we are looking at?
