Note to self - must learn to count
There I was feeling self-satisfied - ages ago I said we needed to upgrade one of our switches and finally it began to fail so they HAD to listen to me, and bought a new switch to my specification.
That's where it all went wrong. I thought I had counted the number of connections and given that we are very very short of money I thought we could get away with a 24 port even though the dead switch was a 48 port. So I merrily ordered it, the caretaker screwed it to the wall, all was fine and dandy until....he had a cable left over. There were 25 connections to that switch.
Now what do I do?
