Today is my last day as an EduGeek for some time (possibly for ever). I'll keep reading and posting on the forum, but it will no doubt feel strange that you're having all the fun while I go and move to America to get married (naturally, you're all invited), possibly live in a nice house with a swimming pool (you're not invited), get a better paid job etc.
Yeah, I imagine there will be times when all I want to do is draw a network diagram, or get my hands covered in printer toner, or wipe sick off a keyboard. I will be envious of you.
Don't pretend to have a miserable time just for my sake - EduGeek is here so that you can all celebrate how worthwhile, rewarded, and respected you feel in your job. It's clearly also here to marvel at how well-made, well-designed, and well-supported modern technology and educational software is - and it will be sad for me not to be able to fully join in with those frivolities. But I will try - maybe I'll invent a school of my own, just so that I feel back at home with you guys.
I'll stop now, lest my tears short circuit the keyboard.
(although the above post seems a little sarcastic, I did quite enjoy my time as Network Manager, and if it wasn't for peskily getting engaged, I would still be probably working as that)
