Extract Files etc out of or from an MSI
Am attempting to get the files out of the MicrosoftFixit50199.msi ( How to reset Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) ), things I have attempted so far :
1. msiexec command ( running through a command prompt that I right clicked on --> Run As Administrator --> Yes ) Then pasted the below into the command prompt and pressed enter
msiexec /a "C:\HTA Projectsv2\Repair LAN\50199 Reset TCP.IP\MicrosoftFixit50199.msi" /qb TARGETDIR="C:\HTA Projectsv2\Repair LAN\50199 Reset TCP.IP\MicrosoftFixit50199"
2. Attempted the 3 methods through universal extractor ( Universal Extractor | LegRoom.net )
Both methods just extract a bunch of gibberish files - I was hoping for a vbscript / bat file and some other things as wanted to see how the microsoft auto fix msi files repair or reset TCP.IP Stack and was hoping to do the same for a Winsock reset
I know you can use the netsh utility to reset both tcp/ip stack and winsocks
