In regards to the skirting coming off with plaster, that's not a serious problem, but one to be semi-concerned about. Just goes to show how bad your plaster is!

Why not try powerline adapters...I have a pair here and my TV runs through them really well.
take skirting off,
Score along lower 2" of plaster board
Break off lower 2" of plaster board
Place cable in new cavity in wall
Reaffix skirting.
Done.

Yep every time! I'm a ex sparky and ripping the skirting boards off can be a right pita! The thing that will determine how much mess and making good you do is what the skirting boards are fixed to and with what. Big nails into a brick wall can be very messy whereas gripfill onto plasterboard not so!Quote:
