I used to be with Plusnet and I was able to browse the local network to get to the music share on my Squeezeserver.
I switched to Sky and after plugging in my new Sky hub I can no longer access any machines on my local network.
It was working before the only thing that changed was my router.
Is there something I need to enable on the router config to turn on network browsing?
If it's anything like TalkTalk, they use a DNS forwarding thing; not sure if you're going by IP or name... if by name it is probably forwarding your requests to an 'opendns' like product they use. You can't easily turn it off, unless it's changed now.Quote:

Has the router got the setting to stop devices talking to each other? Can't remember the technical name sorry. Something like device isolation.

Check uPnP is enabled, on Sky routers its turned off by default
and make sure the NAT firewall is set to enable internal traffic

Yes it is connected and has been rebooted to pick up the new ip address. Will look at the other things tonight when I get home.

I don't know if you have the same router I had, but try unplugging it for a few minutes and plugging it back in again. I had no end of problems with mine, in fact I've had 3 different routers (same model) from Sky that were all awful. I eventually picked up a cheap TD-Link 1-port ADSL router, a Linksys WRT54G and shoved the Tomato firmware on it - plain sailing ever since!

Its this one, not turning it off as im still in the 14 day training period.
That's exactly the same one as I have. Unfortunately, I just connected everything to the router, wired or wirelessly, and it just worked. :(
My money would be on ZH's suggestion.
