What makes an ultrabook not a laptop? Marketing.
Dimensions/processor type and lack of optical drives?
the "U" at the end of the CPU model mainly
But most are sub 14" screens and very thin/light
Intel's approved branding.
Some better specified notebooks (vaio Z) are not ultrabooks, but can be lighter, thinner and faster.
Ultrabooks are simply laptops without a cd drive with a £300 premium :)

Marketing BS :-) that is the differentiation between most products. Hardware wise its all very similar, it's the marketing BS that separates it all. Pad, pod, book, slate. The hardware is effectively the same, it's the software that is a dead end or not. It's all kind of Zen, go with the flow and all that. Everything corp and manageable runs MS, RDP and active sync area still the answer, the difference is how the question is phrased.
It's all MP3 players?

The Zen was one of the first, it concerned itself with openness and universality, look where that got it, brand and restrict the balls off it then you end up with the apple hardware and app store. Enough sheep pledge their undieing loyalty to them and the other major players follow suit with the same tactic, humanity as a whole seems to want to be subdugated, who are the profit seeking companies to argue, it's what the populace wants after all.
Loki, is that you?
Quote:
Loki: [To crowd] Kneel before me. I said… KNEEL! Is not this simpler? Is this not your natural state? It's the unspoken truth of humanity that you crave subjugation. The bright lure of freedom diminishes your life's joy in a mad scramble for power. For identity. You were made to be ruled. In the end, you will always kneel.
Are Ultrabooks as good as Apple Macbook Pros?
