Return of the Gatt
Hey folks - Long time no post!
With everything that's happened to me over the past year and a half I found myself with less time on El Geek.
However, I plan to change this downward trend and try to become more active on here!
So, move over a bit on the couch and let me in!!
* Shoves up a bit to make room and passes @Gatt an eduHobnob *
Nice to see you again :) what are you up to these days?
ooh eduhobnobs - how I have missed them!
Been busy - mainly working and recovering from 2 SAN failures in 3 months.
Still keeping my eye open for jobs that have a bit more money to bring in.
Learning SCCm 2012 off my own back and loving it so far
Welcoming a new cat to the family and generally getting read for Christmas now!
Hoping to go on an ITIL course in the New Year too which should be of use!
Oh @Gatt - how lovely to see you - we have missed you.
*squeezes onto sofa between @elsiegee40 and @Gatt. I have brought educhoc!
*Wanders behind edusofa, muttering about how I told everyone that centralised, single-point-of-failure storage was a bad idea...*

Welcome back Gatt nice to see you :)
thanks all - :)
Been struggling to implement the hell that is "EduRoam" (For those that don't known - it's basically a giant Wireless cloud that has a SSID called err "Eduroam" and allows you to connect to your own University from another participating university via RADIUS..)
Trouble is that in the UK it's controlled by JANET who has ZERO documentation on how to set it up [for Windows NPS! plenty of "hints" for FreeRADIUS which we've been told not to use?!?] and I have until the 21st December to get it up and running!)
So looks like I will also ave to write the HOWTO for the entire academic community as well!
As well as do all the other stuff at the same time...
No Pressure eh?!
**looks around for the EduHobNobs that were hear earlier...**
Sounds fun the cookbook has details for IAS though.
Yeah I downloaded the Cookbook - trouble is we use NPS on 2008 R2 - and whilst its similar to IAS - there are also differences.
The good think is - I feel a junket coming up as it will need to be tested from another University :D
True we run NPS for wireless auth.
Sounds like you need eduJD :)
Evening and welcome back! Had a similar SAN related enforced absence too, as did some others! Something in the water!!
So, shuffle up and make some more room. Extra choc and eduhobnobs here too! We all need them. Approving of your SCCM 2012 by the ways!
Good to see you back but... ermmm... thats my lap, not the sofa.
