What do you like to do on holiday...

    Activities

    Aerobics (74)
    Bicycle Rental (221)
    Billiards (382)
    Bowling (45)
    Casino (25)
    Diving (190)
    Football (28)
    Horseback Riding (81)
    Ice Skating (3)
    Indoor Pool (219)
    Inline Skating (8)
    Mini Golf (198)
    Motorized Water Sports (30)
    Near Mountains (408)
    Outdoor Pool (649)

This is the list of activities you can filter by when looking for a holiday through Mr T Cooks's website...

Most make sense as things you might look for in a holiday, but the ones that surprised me were...no you tell me which you think seem out of place...

Aerobics is a bit out of place tbh. Aerobics is living torture. I go to a class twice a week and I sure as hell wouldn't go on holiday to do it! It's like PE at school all over again.

That being said, LeBoyfriend and I don't do 'beach' holidays - we get bored. We like things to do and places to see. We're planning a second trip to Malta next year to do the 'Game of Thrones' tour (unofficially). But our 'main' holiday is always at the end of January and involves throwing ourselves down the side of a snow-covered mountain with two bits of plastic strapped to our feet. The more tired and achy we are the better the time we're having (that spa afternoon on day 2 is heavenly but the 3 day blues and associated agonies are never fun).

    .
Ohhh, I would! It is really hard to find a good aerobics class around here anymore. The class I do twice a week has morphed into interval training to music which just isnt the same. I would definitely do a good class on holiday as well as Zumba, aerodance and whatever else.
Having said that, mrwITch and I tend to go on holiday to see places - been to NY this year and hope to go to SA next year. So no opportunity to do classes or sit by a pool there, I dont think.
We are going to Portugal later in the summer but that is to see a friend who has emigrated there - so hopefully we will see a bit of the real Portugal.
Other than that, we like to read on holiday. The Kindle has been a real godsend as before I had to have a case just for my books!

Zumba is really popular among my facebook friends and I feel a bit bad for Helen (my aerobic instructor) because her classes are really good - 'classic' aerobics moves. The routine changes each month and we have a 'focus' for that month - It was 'Madonna arms' in march where we did work with weights, then in June it was LBT's - we all looked like Ballarinas working our inner thighs while holding onto the wall! LOL. I think this month is a heavy cardio focus. Luckily she has a 'day job' and works with LeBoyfriend, but the Zumba classes are leeching her clients. That being said, it is really nice to go to a class that isn't PACKED - there are usually about 6-8 of us to a class on a Thursday and more on a Tuesday (the higher impact class).

That's a shame - we used to have about 45-70 at aerobics and most are still with us. The classes had a great teacher- Adrian (something nice to look at, too) and they were great fun as they built up a routine using lots of moves. Very basic aerobics can be boring but he put extra stuff in. But he had to give up and as I say, now we have the "total toning" teacher who does interval training - basically you do a move at three different, progressively harder, levels, the whole repeated three times over the course of a track, then you start again with a different (and BORINGLY REPETITIVE) move to another track.
Zumba is fun, I do two classes a week - but every teacher is very different. One is a little bit less energetic (the sweat drips off my face) and one is a killer (sweat drips off the end of my ponytail!!)

Personally Site next to a swimming pool doing not alot. I'm trying to decide where to go this year. This Jan was Bali and the Previous two trips had been to different parts of Thailand.

Thailand takes some beating and Bali didn't top it!
