    Car Advice needed quickly

I have been searching for a Mitsubishi ASX 3 diesel for some time and have had no luck in my price range. Have just found one at oaktree garage.co.uk in coventry:
2010/10 reg ASX3 1.8 DiD. Kingfisher Blue, 6000 miles, It has 17” alloys, Bluetooth, chrome grille, reverse sensors, stop/start engine, stability control, electric windows/mirrors, keyless entry and starting, 4 mudflaps, floor mats, door entry kick strips, boot liner tray, £ 135 a year road tax cost, 50+ mpg, and it has a cloth interior with heated seats in the front!

(or search autotrader for mitsubishi asx under £14000.) The reg starts LO
That is a seriously good spec and a very good price - not seen any similar below 15000 around here, and have looked for a long long time
Thing is, I cant get to the garage. They'll deliver it for £119. He has sent pics - looks OK
    Do I risk it?
I know it is a dodgy thing to do but I really want this car in this colour!!

I would use caution. With cars I think 110% if it is too good to be true then it probably is. Might be cut and shut, might not be genuine miles.

It might also be part of a big sale to get rid, what is the size of the garage?

Do one of those check things, for 3 quid it will be worth it, it will get past some of the obvious issues in one swoop

Thing is, @witch , you have to go with your gut feeling. Me? If it was what I wanted and I thought I could trust the vendor, then I would go with my gut....

However, should you CHOOSE to, then you have to be prepared for something going wrong. I.E. Delivery problems, not the car you thought, etc etc

Finally.... Good Luck in your decision!

"At this point in time I have nothing but praise for my dealer who have bent over backwards to help me. (Oak Tree Garage Coventry). My wife loves this car so a second might be on the cards, perhaps an ASX4 with all the trimmings." from here Mitsubishi ASX Owners Club - Forum

Family run since '89 Mitsu dealer - it's a risk, but only a small one IMO...

I have bought cars from the other end of the country, train up there and driven back. My current BMW was a prime example. But, I have not spent as much as that on a car so I had less to risk. If you think the car is worth it, then its worth the £100 in train fare to get there, no?

If you definately can't get to see for piece of mind get an AA inspection we considered a similar situation recently.

Ended up buying from a local dealer but it's same thing really, right car, right price etc....

2010 so hopefully some manafacturers warranty left?

If I am shopping online & find a new potential supplier I often take a look at them with Google Maps satellite view

I once saw a great deal on a Nikon lens, £800 when everyone else was selling at £1100. The website looked very professional, lots of feedback... the 'registered' address of the shop was a gap between two other stores in a terrace... needless to say my card stayed in my pocket.

well it would be if I had time but I have to be somewhere else tomorrow, they are shut on Sunday and I dont think it will be there next weekend.
It is cheap but not a stupid price in that in other parts of the country, the north and scotland particularly, the car is cheaper than here.
    Could do the AA thing

They are definitely long established. There is a year's manufacturers warranty left and a year's breakdown cover. 30 day major fault warranty from the garage.
    An AA inspection is £140!
They will drive it down and so it would need to be in my name and I would have to pay for the tax. so I cant just pay the delivery cost and they would take it back, unfortunately
I must admit, I am leaning towards living dangerously......

If they will drive it down surely they could do it on their own trade plates?
