While on the subject can anyone reccomend suppliers? I usually shop around for the best deals at the time but I am now going to buy more in bulk so looking for a good supplier.

I get all my toner from Insight UK, tho you do need to chat to the same person (like with all suppliers) and say you are education, etc so that he gives you the "best price" lol
I've been mainly getting everything from them as everytime I check, he always has given me the best price and/or beaten other prices when needed.
So no more...

Insight won some alliance with BECTA to be an official supplier - so they're very keen at the moment to give schools really good deals.
Very bad experience with them about 6 years ago - customer services was a joke - they seem to have tidied up thier act now.
If you want new toners the best supplier I have found, and I buy loads, is a company called RDS in Derby, I have been buying from them for years, more or less next day delivery, free of charge. Spectrum are very good as well.
On the subject of printing can anyone recommend a good solid mono network laser printer for use in computer rooms(one that is strong enough to withstand kids and not expensive to run) The HP Laser Jet 5s I have been running for several years are finally dying and I want an equivalent replacement.

I tend to use a localish supplier, Thomas Computer Supplies (Preston). They seem as cheap as anyone and the owner is mates with another supplier I use so I occasionally manage to wangle special deals.
As for printer, I like the HP 4050n printers. I've recently been buying 2nd user ones for £130 each and they tend not to go wrong. If you think that a new laser will cost you £400-£600 for a reliable one, you can buy a few and have spare cashies for toner and any repairs if they do go wrong.

Guys try www.bluepoint.net for all supplies! Seriously hard to beat, you will need to setup an account but well worth it. We use lasertech for most printer cartridges.
Are they a trade only firm that will set up an account for schools?
Jus' wonderin'
