Today is one of those days where my To Do list is empty, and unless things break or stop working (which is inevitable), i have nothing but mediocre tasks to do, such as quick search for mp3's, locking/unlocking the IT rooms.
As much as I'm constantly battling to keep the kids off games, days like today I feel like I could do with a game to play.
What do you do on days where theres nothing to be done, and all day to do it?
One of my favourite pass times is harrassing the lovely ladies in the office, but they all love me so its all good!

Go for a walk round the school, survey for damage speak to people etc. Keep up to date with IT developments or work on my development plans.
Some days are worse than others however.

I find that these times are useful for thinking about other ways to improve the network/website or anything IT related. For instance during one of my spare moments I researched into OCS inventory and now have that set up at one school and have found it very useful already :P.

Re: Slow days, nothing to do!
Its lovely and quiet here (not job wise but interruption wise) at the mo, due to the school summer holidays.
I soon learnt to really enjoy quiet days - I get so few of them. During the past month or so it has been the busiest time since I started - with laptop trials, Interative quizzes (trialed as a testing method) etc.
I relaxed on quiet days by reading discussion boards - both on and off computer topics
and also tidying my desk - thats a good past time hehe!

My office is a bomb site, I suppose a bit of tidying never hurt anyone!

Nooo! That just encourages teachers to leave laptops in it for you to look at.

Damn straight! I so this too. I am forever trying to install windows 1.0 in VMWare :0)
I also tend to mess on with Amiga Emulators too! I love nostalgic stuff!
Most of time if I don't have much to do I tend to do lots of research.
99% of the time I am extremely busy multitasking these days.
...I tell you what else is fun, searching groups in google for old dates such as the day you were born or when certain things happened in the world. When to go back to groups from the early 80s there is hardlys anyone who had access to the internet. It's funny reading posts about the next up and coming technology such as compact disks! Or Microsoft.
Oh the fun to be had!

I like to muck around with VM Machines when I have nothing on. I design web templates as well.
