    Software-less laptops?

Ive noticed in my search for cheap laptops, that they all come bundled with windows, and a bunch of software, which I undoubtedly bungs up the price.

I'm looking for a mid/high spec laptop wich hasnt got any of the software, because I'm going to be loading Ubuntu onto it, so I dont need windows, Open Office, so i dont need MS Office etc.

Does anybody know of any places which sell custom spec laptops to the detail where you can buy one with NO software on it?

    Thanks

Buy a Dell with a Business account. You can then specify no OS or FreeDOS.

Have you tried contacting Dell's Education Centre Directly, They do Custom Quotes to how ever you need them, as we still use them to order XP machines as we cannot see any need for getting Vista Before BSF in 2011.

I've looked through the Dell Education section before and priced up the same spec pc as their standard section to find the price was a lot more even without all the software they stick on for "free" was a shock.

...Except they still will install Norton Anti-Virubbish, Adobe Reader and Google Tools!

Which defeats the point a little
