Anyone any idea how to embed the olympic torch relay stream?

I just noticed that the BBC website is streaming the whole Olympic Torch relay and thought it might be nice to have the stream on our XIBO screen in reception. The one problem is I can't work out how to do that?

BBC - Olympic Torch Relay - Live Relay

Anyone clever enough to work it out?

Well saying that I can find the code on the page to embed...

    <object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" id="bbc_emp_embed_emp-live" data="http://www.bbc.co.uk/emp/releases/worldwide/revisions/749603_749269_749444_3/749603_749269_749444_3_emp.swf" width="448" height="252" style="visibility: visible; "><param name="quality" value="high"><param name="wmode" value="default"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"><param name="flashvars" value="embedReferer=&amp;embedPageUrl=http%3A%2F%2 Fwww.bbc.co.uk%2Ftorchrelay&amp;uxHighlightColour= 0xFF6F33&amp;domId=emp-live&amp;playlist=http%3A%2F%2Fplaylists.bbc.co.uk %2Fnews%2Fworld-africa-15392158A%2Fplaylist.sxml&amp;mediatorHref=http%3A %2F%2Fopen.live.bbc.co.uk%2Fmediaselector%2F5%2Fse lect%2Fversion%2F2.0%2Fmediaset%2Fjournalism-pc%2Fvpid%2F%7Bid%7D"></object>

    Have you tried inserting:

    <param name="config_settings_autoPlay" value="true" />

I see that is what they use to make the news channel autoplay - hopefully it will be the same player!

Can you get it to show up and play manually using this embed code? For me it just says content not available.

It seems to work for me.. but.. it takes about 5 minutes to load the SWF! Seems odd seeing as it does it on both our 100mb connection and 8mb connection.

I haven't managed to get it to autoplay, though.

It doesn't seem to like our connection, which is odd as it works fine when initiated from the Beeb's page.

Did you get it to autoplay?

No autoplay yet! I did try your suggestion Interwebsguy, I did look at our bbc news embed as well! Still no autoplay yet though.

I wondered about changing it to <param name="autoPlay" value="true"> and trying that. A lot of the params look like standard ones so you could strike it lucky.

Seeing as it barely works for us in a timely fashion, I haven't attempted to try it!

I am about to conclude that this isn't possible.
BBC's Embedded Media Player doesn't seem to have any auto play options, and adding the video source to your own player such as JW Player doesn't work - I guess because it's expecting the request to come from their EMP!

Edit: I've tried opening the source (http://www.bbc.co.uk/emp/releases/wo...9444_3_emp.swf) in quite a few media players and just get the content not working message. Seems it can't be done.

I will be interested if anyone else gets it working as this will bug me!

Hey, I seem to have found a way to make it auto play.

So in the <param name="flashvars" add on the end of the value string "&config_settings_autoPlay=true&amp"

    Seems to work for me!

Seems to work for me - apart from there is no picture available on the feed at the moment.

I can't believe I didn't try the param in that bit!

Does anybody have the complete code that would work that they could post here? Mine seems to have broken due to too much tinkering!
