....the first person who can find a link to the correct driver for HP Part Number 602993-001 - it's the Realtek 8188BC8 802.11a/b/g/n 2×2 WiFi and Bluetooth 3.0+HS Combo Adapter.
HP India have done my head in and the RealTek website is useless.

Perhaps there is an error in documentation?

Read a few more threads on this, it appears that the part number does not match the description
From Wireless upgrade on dv7-3065 - HP Support Forum
As I review Chapter 3, the only 5.0 GHz card you can get is the Realtek 8188BC8 802.11a/b/g/n 2×2 WiFi and Bluetooth 3.0+HS Combo Adapter part number 602993-001.When I enter the part number in the Parts Store, I am very skeptical that is is the same part. It doesn't mention a/b/g/n or the Bluetooth part and I find it hard to believe that it is only $21.xxI would call HP first before ordering the card because I don't think that is the right part number they have in the manual.
DriverPack WLAN 12.03 for Windows Vista/7 (x64) | DriverPacks.net ..
When do I get my beer .. lol ..(just kidding .. it's worth a shot though .. I've found DriverPacks has helped with so many of the no driver available kind of things that I've solved that it's now my first port of call if I don't have an original drivers disk)
HP have that part down as a 1x1 not a 2x2
HP PartSurfer

I know, we had to order the part from the states. I'm now thinking they've shipped the wrong bit / got their part numbers mixed up![]()
You are not alone.
Need a 5ghz HMC wifi card for a DV6-6135DX

According to HP support in India we have the correct part number but they can't tell us where the driver is on the HP site. They keep telling us to use the 8188CE driver which is useless as it doesn't provide the .11a functionality that the 8188BC8 card has. How difficult is it to tell us where the driver is for a part they have supplied?!

Thank you HP - your customer support representative is refusing to help us as we purchased the card separately - even though we purchased it directly from HP!?!?!? Is this Groundhog Day as we went through all this yesterday.

Thanks, but we've tried this and get lumbered with the wrong driver (the 8188CU) and not the one we need for the chipset on the card HP have supplied.

What the hardware id string from device manager?
Ben

Any chance this is what it is?
Because that's a 8188CEB8... It's close enough to the model number you have to make me think it's a mistake.
Plus:
Compatible with the following models: HP P/N: 602640-001, 602993

PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8176&SUBSYS_169F103C&REV_01

Foobar I think they've sent the wrong card.
