    Talking Baptism of Fire

    Hi
I was employed as an IT Technician because the Network Manager and his assistant were snowed under. Two weeks before I started the assistant left and the day I started the Network Manager announced he was leaving in 3 weeks!
Having had very little experience of network management, after two weeks on my own, I am now totally stressed, dazed and confused. Apart from that, the salary is insulting for such responsibility.
Am I completely crazy? If not now, then I soon will be.

    Welcome darbyshire !

You'll find we come in all shapes, sizes, ages and nationalities here - slightly more consistency about our sanity (or lack of of it!)

    Hi

    Hi,
After teaching for more years than I care to admit have taken early retirement and got a job as an IT tech. Some would say I'm having to do some real work for the first time!!!
I'm in one of the Kent schools that's going BSF so life is likely to get interesting...............
Been doing it now 6 months, really enjoying it and realising how little I know.

    Cheers
    Stu

We could ask this apprenticeship in I.T or is it in Drinking or is one of these new diplomas in; Drinking and being hung over and arriving late to certain events that start in 'BE' and end in 'TT'

    Hi folks,

Just popping on to say Hello.

I current work in Edinburgh Uni Students' Association as IT Assistant Manager but have been looking at other things recently.

I think this will be a useful resource!
