Hello All
Just a quick message to say hello.
I am the ICT Strategic Manager (an inflated title for network manager) at a large secondary on the south side of Gloucester. Joining as I need to ask for some help on some projects that are in the pipeline that our SLT have decided need to be dealt with by the start of next academic year, namely wireless networking and VLEs.
Hopefully you will be able to help and in some instances hopefully I will be able to help you.
Nice to meet you all
Frankie aka Manic

Welcome to all new members ... We hope you enjoy the festivities and we look forward to hearing more from you all next year.
Hi There.
I'm an analyst and software engineer at RM. I'll be prodding for suggestions and asking questions.
Yo.
Penny. aka. The Queen.
I'm secretlife - teacher (don't shoot me) in Lancs but wannabe geek seriously into Moodle and webdesign -was told this was the forum to be in for Expert help - plus I am a female..
Merry Christmas btw
Hello all at edugeek i am a new user here
I enjoy spending most my time in the 3D World on computers and i am at the moment trying to make a game without spenting any of my money.
I'm an IT contractor from Australia. I'm between two schools each week, one with ~900 computers, the other has ~220. Been doing school IT for about six years now for a handfull of other schools, both public & private.
After reading a bit of this forum, I'd have to say there's some quite good info on here!
And I also develop www.netbootdisk.com![]()

Good to see you here, Brad. Glad you find the site handy and good to see more Australians arriving.
I've been lurking on the forums for a while, have to say some of the info has been brilliant, just haven't found the time to signup! I was persuaded to do so yesterday while having a chat at the Edugeek stand at BETT!
I'm working as a Senior ICT Technician at a Secondary School in Horsham, around 500 or so computers on the network, started out here nearly three years ago as my first job in IT and the network was pretty shocking! We've completely rebuilt the network, bought in new servers and upgraded to Server 2003. Feb half-term will see a new set of switches going in and the purchase of a couple of servers for our new thin client network.
Hi everbody. Just registered as new into a 'management' post at a 800+ student grammar school. Now wear a tie to work as 'assist system manager' on RM CC3 ntwk. Previously travelling 1st line tech to primary schools with NYCC (W2003/XP), so new big trainset to play with now.
Have fun.....

I thought I should introduce myself, although I've already met some of you in person.
I'm Darren Taylor, a senior software engineer (according to my boss anyhow) at SmoothWall Ltd and was one of the people handing out Smoothies at BETT.
Blame Tom "stumpy" Newton for me being here, then again you can do as I do and just blame him for more or less anything you like, most of it goes over his head![]()
