I know it's a radical departure guys, and apologies to D. McCoy, but we're working towards a better world here.

Can see it Lenny henry going "please help us there are people out there who have never seen an ironing board"
right as tony would say i'll get my coat![]()
you're not taking this seriously are you Russ?
I dont iron - in fact i deliberately buy clothes that DONT need ironing!
well here's a funny thing Gatt, I've always wanted a linen suit, and a few weeks ago I saw one in a sale and bought it. It's still hanging in the closet, covered in plastic. I've a real dilema going on here.
I think this thread has been hijacked by the iron mongers! :?
I've been lurking for awhile after an introduction from Gatt, thanks buddy because this place has been a god send. Anyway, I thought I'd better introduce myself.
My name's Dave and I'm a manager for an IT company where one of my roles is the support of several local primary schools.
Before finding this site I was getting some weird and wonderful problems and I had a total lack of support, but thankfully this place has sorted things out for me.
Anyway I will no doubt be posting a bit in the future and so I'll apologise in advance! :P

Welcome Dave ... don't worry about the obsessions that some members have ... just be happy that we have a release from the stresses of the job.
I am looking at setting up a new domain though ... www.ironinganonymous.org.uk ... just in case
Hi all,
I'm Mark and I am currently in a weird position as being a teacher but also a techie as well. I kind of inherited the techie partt as I have more experience using computers, running networks, etc... than anybody else in the school.
Mark
Interesting Mark! [and welcome BTW]
So did you have any instructional experience before? A local tech came from a training backgroud and got moved into teaching a few lessons a week. You could say that for us all about the experience bit ...personally teaching is really not what I want to do - I enjoy helping out in lessons, it's just the preperation I know I hate!

welcome all
But maybe we should ban words ironing on the forum
Russell
Well I have been using computers now for 23 years and made a deliberate move into teaching so I am fully qualified as a teacher. It just so happened that with staff "moving on" I ended up helping out on the network side - as much for my own sanity as anything else.Originally Posted by mark

Back to IroningI don't do it, a magic fairy does it for me, I put dirty things in a wicker basket and they magically re-appear in the wardrobe all clean and ironed
Its brill!
