    Gif with a hard "g" for two reasons...

    1) Jif is a cleaning fluid
    2) My users'd only start getting confused and probably start referring to .jpgs as "Jiff-Pegs", and that'd only make me reach for the clue-bat.

    Gif here too... if it was meant to be pronounced Jif then they'd have made the extension .jif!!!

    Hard G. If you want a reason to beat people with, point out it stands for Graphics Interchange Format, and ask if they can pronounce Graphics with a soft G.

    I say Gif with a hard G, but its supposed to be gif with a soft g. There's even an informational website about it... The GIF Pronunciation Page
