I just looked in Wikipedia and that says it was real, so I guess it must have really happened. Wow!

What are they teaching kids these days? Obviously not history. But I can see it being a troll.

Wait until WW1's 100 year anniversary rolls round and we see people thinking that was just a film...

or the same with Saving Private Ryan etc.
I am convinced that the majority of those tweets will be people who knew full well it was a real event, but think its's funny and jump ont eh wagon.
However, given the percentage of the world population that now own or have access to a Twitter account it is odds "on" that at least one of them is ill-educated enough to not know wor done about Major historical events.
You only have to watch pointless once or twice to come to that conclusion..
"We gave 100 people 100 seconds to name as many current MP's as they can" -- when only about 60% come up with the current Prime Minister, but more knew that Jason Donovan was in last season of Strictly... Sad state of affairs

These would be the same kids that think Churchill first rose to fame as the nodding dog on the insurance adverts. If you've seen the adverts for The Only Way is Essex people like this are sadly all too real...

I was obsessed with the Titanic when I was a nipper. Seriously obsessed. I had books all about it, VHS tapes of documentaries, and also loved 'Raise the Titanic'. At one point it was all I ever drew - I had hundreds of pictures of it.

Even more strange was my old man was the same when he was a child and also only drew pictures of the Titanic. He assures me that he never intentionality pushed the whole Titanic thing onto me, it's something I found a fascination in on my own so seems kinda weird how we were both like it.
