Good god. My hand would have snapped off by now, and I would be bankrupt from all the pens, paper and stamps!

You are complaining about the price of stamps, yet you would be happy to pay 12p to send 140 bytes of data to someone electronically (the equivalent of 898.78 per megabyte!!!).

Your post would cost 36p if you texted it!.

Actually - it wouldn't as I am on Three's All You Can Eat dataplan, so for 15 a month I get:
    300 free minutes
    3000 free text messages
as much high speed data as I can possibly use in a month! (Even when tethered to my laptop!)

So yeah - I'm complaining about the price of a stamp when I can send a heck of a lot more information (audio, video or written)

15 per month is still quite expensive for what you are getting don't you think?

    Code:
    300 * (13.2 Kb/s * 60) = 29 MB
    3000 * 140 bytes = 410.16 KB
    ~2GB data
    -------------------------------
    15/m for 2.02871147 gigabytes
    180/y for 24.3445376 gigabytes
    -------------------------------

You could extend that calculation to point out that you could send a single blu-ray disc with all that data on it for a total of... 60p.
