CeX Only deal in pre-owned products which are purchased from customers for either cash or store credit. Having worked for Cex a few years ago while at uni they only purchase products with cash in the tills which are skimmed off to the safe every few hours and banked every few days once it reachs a certain target often several thousand depending on sales. When customers are told they cannot buy cash items at the moment this is true the till staff cannot, its not to say the store has no cash!
If your lucky you can still find some retro games in cex, we were however in 2010 told not to accept PC games in the large cardboard boxs they must be in a DVD case

That's a take home and try experience which you can still do now. Game booths were an in-store try and buy.

26th March 2012, 04:48 PM #48 Just been up town now on a doomed quest to get some other bits and bobs, and the GAME store here is closed - doors locked and handwritten signs up on the door.

I didn't realise they also owned Gameplay. I used to shop online with them all the time, but stopped when I got steam...

26th March 2012, 08:01 PM #57 You have to laugh at that "GAME - You can't lose" banner on their Farcebook page. Bit rich considering the sods won't honour their gamecards or loyalty cards.

It has been said, thus it is true.

It would have been better with a very small "the" in front...
I need to check how much I have on my GAME card... I was [originally] planning to buy what I want, whack the points on the card and then use it to buy something awesome outright.

27th March 2012, 09:20 AM #59 Watched a clip on Sky last night and they were outside a GAME store. Barriers were pulled down there, had written sign in the door saying 'closed'. They said they managed to chat to a staff member earlier who said they were told to close the shop, and to say nothing to anyone about why.

Which is silly... Because we all know what's going on.
I just had a thought... Where the farquaad am I going to get my Wii U from?
GAME/Gamestation are closing. [Gamestation was pretty decent.]
Places like ASDA/Tesco/whatever usually sell at RRP with really bad bundles [in my experience]
Amazon and Play... Well, they're good on price, but I'm not sure I trust them with a £XXX console. [YOOOOODEEEEEEEEEL!]
