It is (so far) Android only. I have read that it is due to you having to have a jail broken iPhone to connect to the ODB2 Bluetooth adaptors.

What is the cheapest android device available that would work with this bluetooth dongle or can it be a linux / windows laptop or is it android only or what exactly / any FAQ or info regards to compatibility with which devices it will / won't work with

Apparently the dongles can talk to Windows/Linux laptops and there is software available (some dongles come with demos of these)
There are also (apparently) Wi-Fi ODB2 dongles as well that are Mac compatible, but not sure about software availability.

There is similar pc software out there for instance vagcom for vw junk, lexia3 for Peugeot Citroen and so forth. Garmin also have a Bluetooth module that works with their satnavs

I recently purchased one of these Auto V1.5 Bluetooth CAN-BUS Diagnostic interface scanner tool OBD2 OBDII ELM327 | eBay brilliant for the money! Came with an interesting CD of software for Windows, Android, WinMob and Symbian!?

Worked with my MR2 Roadster and diagnosed an EML which on its own was brilliant, I used the free version of Torque which I was so impressed with ended up purchasing the full version for less than £3. I also tried it on my Mini Cooper S and I love PSI readings from the supercharger itís a geekís toy and handy tool combined!

OBD2 device arrived today (same model/price you paid) and I've just been playing with it in the car on Torque. For less than £15 you can have a full diagnostic suite and monitoring suite. It also allows you to read/reset EML warnings. I'm looking forwards to running the Track Recorder app on a trip to Cumbria tomorrow

Used this recently to check my wife's car when the Check Engine light came on. Diagnosed a bad shift solenoid. The mechanic confirmed it and promptly took me to the cleaners.

I bought a bluetooth adapter the other day inspired by this thread, works brilliantly with torque, I bought this one V1.4 OBD2 OBDII CAN-BUS Diagnostic Scanner Bluetooth: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics

I also decided to write my own web interface for storing the logged data from torque (torque already has that feature but I prefer to store the data myself) and it works quite nicely.
