I am feeling somewhat grumpier than usual today and having just done a survey about online storage I have a question...
Is anybody else here getting fed up with hearing the phrase 'oh it's cloud based doncha know'
It seems to me that I have been storing and using data 'in the cloud' for a very long time...
...the difference is that we used to refer to it as 'online' or 'web based'...why do we need another buzzword!
Oh and just to annoy the civil liberties mob what are the possible consequences of handing control of all your data/apps to a central body?

14th March 2012, 10:54 AM #3 To be fair the cloud isn't just storage online. It is the combination of many products, IaaS, SaaS and PaaS for example, online storage is just one use of the over arching "cloud computing" label.
