Youtube?? : ERA Stopped by Central Bedfordshire Council

Just want your opinion on it..

Central Bedfordshire Council (CBC) Has stopped paying for the ERA for there Schools. So the bursa has been on to the EAR about what it covers.
The bursa said about Youtube and using it but the ERA said its for Privet use and should not be used in school, So the Bursa read the T&C of youtube and she read it as we can use it in school.

    1. You can use YouTube in school.
    2. You don't need ERA to use YouTube in school.

ERA is about making recordings. The hint is in the name: Educational Recording Agency. It also only applies to broadcasts. Seeing as YouTube is a) on-demand, not broadcast, and b) does not provide a method for recording their videos (unless you use a third party downloader which is against the T&Cs), there is no way you could need ERA.

Full info on what the ERA is actually for here: The ERA Licensing Scheme
