Remove hard disk, place in vice in DT department.

    apply Screwdriver/Chisel.

    Hit Screwdriver/Chisel with hammer.

Repeat, adding a couple of direct hits to the HDD with the hammer.

Task is complete when the HDD sounds like a sand timer when shaken.
You could replace the Screwdiver/Chisel and Hammer steps with Electric drill with metal bit
If your DT department is feeling very kind, you can always get a jig made up to fit a HD so that you can use the pillar drill for multiple passes.

The old computers go to a local charity who refurbish them and sell them on. I pull the hard drives before I take them there, and beat the hard drives to death with a lump hammer. Therapy and charity in one happy box.

Yep, but nothing so Hi-Tec here.

Obtain supply of 6" nails and matching 4lb club hammer from Site Team.

Place hard drive on floor of workshop.

I'm sure you can all guess the rest.
