Computer room sizes
I've just been asked to consider how to squeeze 2 extra computers into every IT room to accomodate larger classes.
Most of our rooms currently have 30 machines with each pc on an individual desk.
What suite/class sizes do you all have, and has anyone had to perform any similar magic?

Yup, had to do it here. Magic? There are a few options and considerations - remember to tell the powers that this can go far beyond buying another couple of PCs!
Island desks - easy way to do these is with poles which drop from the ceiling, but neater overall if they can rip up the floor to do this!
Squeeze everything in - try to get at least 80cm for each PC's work area as a rough guide, it gets really tight otherwise!
Current switch and ring main capacity - more PCs = more likely to blow the trips through earth leakage. If your ring main is already on its limits this can cause issues. Do you have spare network ports?
Compact workstations/laptops - may help a little, but the kids still need room to breathe!

I work on 750mm width per station maybe you can squeeze them in with this?
Likely to require some form of smaller desktop or all-in-one or thin client solution.

Yes we are in the process of adding machines to rooms.
