5th February 2012, 02:02 PM #33 150-200mm here, just finished helping Sprogette make SnowLady cradling SnowBaby(!), their SnowRabbit(!!) and SnowArmchair(!!!)... managed to talk her out of the cat, coffee table, sofa, bed, TV, igloo etc... cunningly using all the snow that was on the sloping drive with Teacher t'other half's car at the top of it.

5th February 2012, 02:39 PM #36 Saw some photos of a friend back home, whose neighbours have built a snow wall at the end of their drive, blocking them in
Now that's a great excuse not to go to work.

To be fair the first sharp frost we had this winter in Kent stopped the trains getting to London (at least where I am).

Only in as much as we get sent alert notices from BA and travel agents about the situation regards flights in / out of LHR, LGW, MAN etc. Just in case we're travelling.
Biggest problem here is a sandstorm, or two days ago, we had a few mm of rain

6th February 2012, 09:57 AM #43 We had a couple of inches. Today it's 99% gone. However, at work and the area round there, it's still "tracks in the snow", and at tiddlers nursery, it's not even that due to it being on an Industrial estate with no weekend traffic! Cue us riding on top of frozen snow all the way in. The snow/winter tyres did well. "Snow mode" on the gearbox though, less so.
I'm afraid I don't like GM's shift strategy in that mode...lots of revs, very little go...feels very uncontrolled. So I turned it off again. Heh.

Cheers for the heads up. It certainly didn't look like that at the start of the week.
