Take a look at the NCAP - it doesn't do particularly badly IMO - Smart fortwo | Euro NCAP - For safer cars crash test safety rating

Having seen several smart cars momentarily sidecar when turned into a t-junction a bit quickly.
You'd have to hope it bounces.

2nd February 2012, 04:20 PM #45 My first car was a 1975 Mini Clubman Estate GT. 10" Wheels, tiny sports steering wheel and it was great fun to drive.
15 different shades of Orangey browny, collapsed rear suspension (we had the part to fix but couldn't get the old part off) complete nightmare on the motorway at 75MPH BUT STILL FUN. Probably a lot more room in the back, room for 2 adults on the back seats as well (just).
