I’ve done
• M150: Data, computing and information Level 1
• MT264: Designing application with Visual Basic Level 2
• T224: Computers and processors Level 2
• T155: Linux: an introduction Level 1
I’m doing
• M359 Relational databases: theory and practice Level 3
• M363 Software engineering with objects Level 3
Thats the same course as me M363 (just started it)
Again I am half way through my degree also (computing ones always seem to take longer thanks to most the courses being 30 points instead of 60!! Doh!)

Just signed up for the T155 Linux, what's it like?
I tried the M255 but after endless problems with my laptop and the ou workspace not working properly - ended up dropping too far behind to continue. I didn't enjoy it too much either, not my strongest point anyway without complications. I really enjoyed the AviSynth scripting in the T215 though and I did well in that module.

To be honest I ended up buying a Linux+ book and working to that as the module can be used as a preparation for the linux+ exam. So I thought might as well learn it the exam way. Then just did the final assignment. I already use Linux and it was only used to fill a gap in my studies between main modules. But very good for anyone with no knowledge of Linux. Would be nice if the OU offered a medium or advanced one. Still waiting for my results for the module.

So I am now looking at other courses, hopefully IT related, which I can do but I know I will end up picking different strands to fill in some gaps.
Same here, strgled with the coding side of things.... I have also found it difficult to fill in the gaps as some courses have been discontinued. I shouldn't have left it until after xmas..

I've been following Learn to code | Codecademy in bits and pieces recently ... and it has been ok. I am trying to do one evening a fortnight on it now for 90 mins at a time.

7th February 2012, 05:19 PM #37 As a matter of interest, I have seen somewhere on the OU the modules that are required to class your degree as a computing degree but for the life of me can't find it. Anyone know where they've hidden it?
