General Chat Thread, That camera that films light moving... I do NOT understand... in General; SURELY that must mean it has some mechanism in it that works faster than light to be able to capture ...

    It kind of explains it in the video, it just takes a ton of images over multiple firing's of the laser then they splice them together to give you the complete image.

    that was my understanding of it anyway

    The camera samples the scene it is recording at a very high frame rate while the light source illuminates the scene with short rapid pulses. Also the camera records the image, one frame at a time, in very narrow bands. A mirror rotates in front of the camera so that the entire scene is scanned into the camera. Once the recording is complete the narrow band images are complied.

    The technique gives the impression that we see the light as it moves through the scene illuminating the object.
