    802.11ac - 13GHz WiFi standard

    Doesn't seem that long ago that 802.11n was new, but lo and behold, 11ac is now revealed and promising speeds of 1.3GHz on laptops.
    Get scared and confused by the voodoo level of physics that goes into this stuff: AnandTech - 5th Generation WiFi: 802.11ac, "Gigabit" WiFi Primer

    The 5Ghz only thing could be a bit iffy in these old brick monstrosities we work in, though. These walls could withstand a siege, so radio signals are easy for them to defeat...
