    As a fan I'm really looking forward to this, I still love digging out the old DVD's of the first series and watching them over and over as I still find them hilarious (Quarantine with Arnold Rimmer and Mr Flibble still has me rolling about laughing).

    Back to reality was poor, although it did have a couple of moments which were amusing.

    I really hope this is going to be as good as people are suggesting.

    "What's that Mr Flibble? We can't possibly do that.....who'd clear up the mess?" :-)

    Me and a friend on IRC were watching random eps the other day and could barely go 5 minutes each without quoting some of the cracking lines.

    From your episode above for instance, one thing that always gets me piddling myself is "Sir, I have a medium size fire axe buried in my spinal column. That sort of thing may put a crimp on your day!"

    One of the lines that genuinely has me rolling on the floor is one of the least favourite series - 7. "I hope we don't get stopped by the cops. They don't like it when you're ratarsed." (as Starbug is flying down a vent, firmly lodged up a rat's rectum)

    Series 6 was my favourite, closely follow by 5. Gunmen of the Apocalypse is just superb.

    Fantastic writing in that one and it was critically acclaimed and awarded to boot. My favourites are indeed GOTA, Back to Reality, Backwards, Quarantine, Out of Time, Psirens and Rimmerworld. Oh and Terrorform. And Queeg. In fact, lots of them
    Also have a strange love for Tikka to Ride. Awesome writing.

    So, I've booked the TV tonight off the wife and will be dug in with snacks and beer to see the new series! Very excited!!!

    There's no canned laughter.. it's in front of an audience. But the notion of doing something like that is such as shock to people these days that there is a strange assumption it is.
