The extra ram on the R6950 would give you ultra textures in BF3 and probably more games in the future so id go with that. 1GB isn't enough on my pretty recent 560ti purchase

MSI AMD Radeon HD 6950 Twin Frozr III PE/OC 2048MB GDDR5 is my choice so far, apparently you can unlock the extra shaders or something on it too?

6950 all the way Its what I've got in my PC and still haven't been able to max it out - although I probably could with more displays.... all the same its a great bit of kit.

Same vote here - if it was 6870 vs 560Ti it would be a different answer. Seems that the 2GB has limited benefits over the 1GB, but the 6950 is a smidge faster either way.

BF3's ultra settings would argue differently!

Have you considered waiting a bit and going for one of the new 7000 series? Due Jan 2012 for 7950 (http://www.fudzilla.com/graphics/ite...ual-on-the-way)

Yes, you can turn it into a 6970 by flashing the one of the dual BIOS. A simple flick switch will knock you back down onto the original firmware should things go wrong.

Admittedly I haven't played any recent games for a good few months, but I'm yet to here the fans spool up in my 6950 - everything I have played I have played at 1920x1200 @ ultra high settings.

Most seem to suggest 1 or 2 FPS difference!

I heard it was glitching issues and not fps loss with 1Gb
