A while ago, teacher calls up frantically saying that she cannot get her pc in the department office to turn on. Go over there and she is desperately just turning the monitor on and off.
Don't worry about the tower love, thats just here for you TO REST YOUR PLANT POTS ON!

Also, don't you just love it whe other people who are not in IT interrupt to try and make you look stupid but in fact accomplish quite the opposite. An example:
Asked to go to finance office to setup a pc for an interim member of staff. (Just to paint the picture, we had already taken a monitor across and it was on the desk ready to go, we are now locating a suitable machine to go with this).
We bring the machine in and beginning the usual routine. Member of the finance team, with a smug grin on his face in front of the new person.
Finance "Oh, could you not just use the one thats already there?" (Points to monitor on desk)
Technicians "Well yes, but that's just.......just a monitor mate, you need both you see!

Need to get some of that fancy new dry ink.

Also the usual pupils coming in saying:
    "computer not working"
    "where?"
    "in the classroom"
    "which classroom?"
    "D Block"
"that's a very big classroom can you narrow it down?"
    "i dunno"
    "who's your teacher?"
    "i dunno"
    "whats not working?"
    "i dunno"

End up trailing half way across school having to drop everything to follow the id... pupil. Only to find they need a replacement mouse or new toner.
Load up SIMs find out which room student is in, go along when ready...

After seeing the title of the thread again made me think of these in the style of Harry Hill's TV Burp!

To be honest I would want to know if one of our labs was leaking to make sure none of the kit was getting drenched. Although there are probably people I would want to know about it before me!

I love those ones. They make me laugh so much, I can't continue the conversation, so the pretentious prat(s) go away.

The Internet has gone down...... Really? has it sunk with all hands?

The sound isn't working in my classroom.... that's because you have the audio cable plugged into the laptop microphone socket, not the headphone socket. ..... Oh really, does it make a difference then?

Printing question...... Why is portrait called portrait, & landscape called landscape?

    "My computer doesn't work"

I press the power button which instantly reawakens a dormant PC.

"I pressed it loads of times and nothing happened."

    I shrug and leave * sigh *

"Is the printer working in classroom X?"
As far as I know. Why, is there a problem with it?
"I don't know, it's just that I'm teaching in there later"

We had this and I was really annoyed that nobody told me. Actually TWICE in the same school. Once a window was left open and the rain soaked everything. They'd obviously noticed because the surface around it had been dried off! Lift the PC and water basically poured out - underneath was a neat, rectangular pool of water! Luckily no lethal shocks!

The second time there was a leak and a couple of dead computers/monitors and a printer.
