    A while ago, teacher calls up frantically saying that she cannot get her pc in the department office to turn on. Go over there and she is desperately just turning the monitor on and off.
    Don't worry about the tower love, thats just here for you TO REST YOUR PLANT POTS ON!

    Also, don't you just love it whe other people who are not in IT interrupt to try and make you look stupid but in fact accomplish quite the opposite. An example:
    Asked to go to finance office to setup a pc for an interim member of staff. (Just to paint the picture, we had already taken a monitor across and it was on the desk ready to go, we are now locating a suitable machine to go with this).
    We bring the machine in and beginning the usual routine. Member of the finance team, with a smug grin on his face in front of the new person.
    Finance "Oh, could you not just use the one thats already there?" (Points to monitor on desk)
    Technicians "Well yes, but that's just.......just a monitor mate, you need both you see!

    Turns out the roof is leaking???

    To be honest I would want to know if one of our labs was leaking to make sure none of the kit was getting drenched. Although there are probably people I would want to know about it before me!

    The sound isn't working in my classroom.... that's because you have the audio cable plugged into the laptop microphone socket, not the headphone socket. ..... Oh really, does it make a difference then?

    We had this and I was really annoyed that nobody told me. Actually TWICE in the same school. Once a window was left open and the rain soaked everything. They'd obviously noticed because the surface around it had been dried off! Lift the PC and water basically poured out - underneath was a neat, rectangular pool of water! Luckily no lethal shocks!

    The second time there was a leak and a couple of dead computers/monitors and a printer.
