I have this one, i find it quite good, build a little poor but it does everything i need it to, i know someone else who uses their wii remote for this, that works very well, with powerpoint and media centre edition.
do you have an iphone? if you have you can get the logitech wireless mouse/keyboard app for free, all you need is a tiny server program running and the phone to be on the wifi
info here: Logitech Touch Mouse Server
there are similar things for android and WinMo aswell

I don't but have an Android. I have actually got the XBMC App and it's great for quick firing off videos, however I'm after something a bit more solid that's always available in the front room. Also there are some occasions where a mouse/keyboard combo would be good for web browsing etc.
this Novatech Wireless Rechargeable Media Touch Keyboard | NOV-MEDIAT is also a good set, but it doesnt have a seperate mouse just a touchpad and is a tad on the expensive side
I have been using one of these for the past couple of months and it works fine as long as you plug the dongle into one of the front USB ports.

I dont have any specifics but years ago i used a creative remote. It was a little bulky but worked really well. I since replaced the box with a Mac Mini and use the remote that came with it.

For a cheap remote these work ok but you will need to use EventGhost to reassign the buttons

Have you looked at Motorola's Nyxboard Hybrid Remote which has been specifically designed for XBMC?
Amazon sell the Boxee remote on its own too.

+1 For Keysonic gear. Their KB/trackpad combi are light and have always been a lot better on my media PC than a simple standalone remote and eventually you'll want to label something or go on the net.
