    Re: The time has come

Our 11s left a few weeks back, the 13s went yesterday.

Both year groups were very pleasant in their muck-up day antics, with no fire alarms, rioting, etc - the 13s even met everyone in the car park as they arrived and gave out sweets!

I haven't disabled any accounts yet, as the students are still in and out a lot doing revision and such like. When the exams have finished, I'll archive the 13s and disable the 11s - I find it easier to wait until September before deleting them as we don't really know who is and isn't coming back yet.

Our year 11's leave today. Tradition here is to have a fancy dress day so today we with a sponge bob square pants, winnie the pooh, tigger, the ymca, bob the builder and many more. I have been signing leavers books all week.

We have got about 10 members of staff escourting them off the premises at about 1 with three to watch that they dont damage the staff cars!!

@DSapseid: Is that 4 students in cohorts or has one come dressed as all the members of the Village People? :-)

I'm actually sad and happy at the same time that our year 11's have gone.
There were some really cool kids in Yr 11 who I had some amusing conversations with, but also there were some proper troublemakers too.

Proximity alarm. Also has the bonus of frightening the teachers, who park next to it, and confirming my status as a "techie".

    Re: The time has come

I asked a year 11 to leave the building, he stood there and laughed, told me I couldnt tell him what to do as he had left school. So I told him, If you are officially left school, that must mean i can knock your lights out (with a big grin on my face' he complied of course i wouldnt have done that, but hey reverse psychology works every time :d

    Re: The time has come

I don't have any Year 11s or 13s as I work at a first and middle school.
BUT I do have a Year 11 and a Year 13 of my own who 'left' last week and this week. It feels very odd to only have one child officially at school anymore (Year 9).
    And sad
And I feel very very old

Do you find your leavers doing muck up stunts even though they're that bit younger or not?

No, not really - the year 4's are too young and the year 8's are straining at the leash to get out and go to the high school (where the girls can slather on even more makeup and wear their skirts even shorter!)

    Re: The time has come

I lock all the computer suites up at lunchtime even if someone has booked them to prevent damage, I tell nobody in school so the word doesn't get out. Over the years this must of saved me quite a bit of damage and hours in finding unplugged network cables, mice, k/bs etc etc.
Try it ..... it works for me.

Sorry ........ I should have said that I locked all the computer suites up at lunchtime on the last day of the year before the students leave.

I know the feeling about biting the nails too, some little darlings decided to adjust my brakes on my bike for my one afternoon, thankfully i check them just in case before i leave!

The funny thing is though, the proxy server went down for a week after that! Only the staff machines could get internet access. WEIRD!
