    This is how i use Request tracker - emails are collected via IMAP i also have some forms on the intranet which use PHPmailer to send emails to the system.

    Wrote our own using MVC3 EF4.1. Really easy to do as well

    We use Track-IT by Numara. fairly decent. its got a help desk database, an inventory DB, a purchasing DB and a training DB.
