And another one said it because I told them I do not believe in halloween as it is essentially children begging for food and money (in the space between 4:30 - 7:00 we have had over 30 people knocking)...and each time I either do a trick or say I do not do halloween (depending on the age of the children)
Am I horrible for this?
One year when i had some kids come to the door, i asked them three questions:
1) When is Anzac day, and what does the day acknowledge?
2) When is Remembrance day, and what does it acknowledge?
3) When is Australia day, and what does it acknowledge?
If they fail any of the three questions, they get reminded that (in my case) we live in Australia, not America and to bugger off

You've obviously not been in to our office! & that comment would be more likely to come from the ladies!

I know all of these (well what they acknowledge)...not sure on the dates but I am certain I know the months
Anzac day is in both australia and NZ (I think) and it comemorates soldiers who have died for their nation, started mainly because of the fighting in gallipoli in turkey during WW1...this is in april, not sure of the day
Rememberance day - end of WW1 and signifies the peace after the war as well as remembering the soldiers who died, november 11th
Australia day - celebrates the first ships coming to australia - this is january, not sure of the day
