Drive safe guys, I hope it comes to nothing: BBC News - Early snowstorm approaches US East Coast

Does anyone know if we can expect another bad winter here in the UK?

I've been hearing this from US chums... But as I've finally bought a snow shovel, I predict a snow free winter!

According to Dara O'Briain on Twitter, New York (where he is) has had it's first October snow in 55 years!

It has been predicted that we'll have another Arctic winter, yes. However, last year I believe they predicted a mild winter... So, I wouldn't put a lot of faith in the long term forecasts.

However, I think there is an expectation of early snow in Nov at some point.

Current prediction is that weather front will hit us on Wednesday, but instead of snow we get lovely rain and high winds! Probably the basis for the snow predictions too.
