1,000 drivers in Wales caught on mobiles in two weeks

They should do this where I live in West London - they would make a bomb on the fines. I would personally chop their hands off or give them an instant 12 month ban.

Agreed...In my area my daughter and I have been nearly run over (on the pavements) because of idiots driving and on their phones at the same time (txting mainly) and not looking at what they are doing.

Royal PITA and it should be mandatory that they do that across the country...catch all of them!

I would ban them from being able to use a mobile phone, have them implanted with a device which interferes with the signal so no matter what they did they couldn't send or receive calls.

People wouldn't want to be around them and they would become social pariahs hehe!

Ohhh! how wickedly good that sounds!

GENIUS!! Only exception should be emergency vehicles as their radios work on the same frequencies as mobile phones.

not quite that simple to do on a national scale...but like I said, have the device in all cars, put it at the centre of the vehicle, 2m radius, job done

The law should be changed and they should get 6 points and fined a higher amount, not £60. It's a waste of time printing the bill for that amount! £1000 is more realistic.

That is how it is in the Isle of Man (£1000 fine) - certainly makes you think!

Oh, and not having a national speed limit is quite nice n'all
